I decided on a black and white theme with a bit of silver. I wanted it to be a clean table, so that when you looked at it, you knew where to look.

So, a few months ago on Facebook, some one liked a new page, Jelly Modern Doughnuts. As soon as I hit “like” I knew I had to check it out. Since the store was located in Calgary, I needed a reason to head on down, and what not a better way to celebrate a birthday than with gourmet doughnuts?

As soon as we got out of the car, all you could smell is the delicious aroma of the doughnuts, mmmmm I love reliving that smell.

They have a variety of doughnuts in large and small. Flavors like Maple Bacon, Carrot Cake, Birthday Cake, Smore and many many more.

One thing that I asked about right away was weddings. Do they do weddings? Can we do a doughnut cake?

So if you are ever in Calgary, or even considering an option other than cake for an event, i encourage you to check this place out!

• When I first saw the inside of the Westminster  Abby, I loved what I sae. I fell in love with the trees in the church. It felt very enchanted, and whimsical. I loved that the colors that they chose. Nice soft tones, nothing that screams look at me.

• When Catherine first got out of the car, I think the whole world wanted to know what and who she was wearing. I must say, I loved the dress. It is a very timeless, classic dress. I loved the lace on top with the long sleeves. The train was just the right length and with the veil she looked stunning, just stunning.

• While Catherine was walking down the aisle with her father, so nervous but poised and smiling as she was squeezing his hand, Prince William and Prince Harry had their backs to her. Prince Harry turned around just to get a sneak peek at Kate walking down the aisle and whispered to William “wait till you see her.” Awwww so sweet.

• When Catherine finally reached William at the alter, after the longest walk ever, William turned to her and said “you look beautiful,” and that was when the waterworks started. She was truly living every girls dream and marrying a real live prince.

• I loved that Catherine was so nervous that when Will went to put the ring on her finger, he had a bit of a struggle, but managed to get it on.

• I loved that when they were officially married, instead of signing the register in front of all the guests and cameras, they and their immediate families went off to a separate room and got to enjoy themselves for a few minutes by themselves

• I know that Kate and Will are true genuine after watching their reaction when they stepped out on to the balcony at Buckingham Palace. Kate whispered “oh wow” as she looked shocked to see such a crowd gathered below. I thought it was so sweet when they both just looked at each other in a look that said should we kiss now and just took the plunge lol. A nice, classy kiss, and we got a treat when they kissed again a few minutes later.

• Fashion. I just adored all the hats and fascinators.  Catherine’s second dress was also so simple, but amazing. I love the belt covered in crystals. Just adds that touch the dress needs. Pippa’s bridesmaids dresses were beautiful. I loved the church one in white, so simply but sexy. And the color of the reception dress, beautiful.

- First, figure out where you want the pet as guest or in the wedding party

- Second, you need to make sure that your ceremony site is pet friendly, no toxins that the pet may eat/drink

- Third, if your pet is walking down the aisle, find someone who not only comfortable with the pet, but that the pet is comfortable with the person as well.

- Fourth, have someone either hired or a family member designated to watch the pet after the ceremony during picture time and be able to take the pet home

- Fifth, make sure the pet is comfortable in the ceremony, make sure you bring him/her to the rehearsal so they understand what is going on

- Sixth, lastly make sure your pet looks their best on your big day too. A easy trip to the groomers is well worth it!

And if you are not able to bring along your furry friend, here are some ways to still have them at the wedding: use pictures of your favorite things, one being your dog, as table numbers, instead of a ring pillow use your dogs collar, instead of giving a favor, make a donation to the local animal shelter and let the guests know by putting your dogs picture on the paper that explains everything, and my favorite ides, using them as a cake topper.

For an addition to the guest book, guests wrote a word of advice for a great marriage.

The mothers and grandmother made homemade jelly as the favors. So good!

The couple really love animals, so they decided that instead of people clinking glasses to kiss, people had to donate money to the SPCA. Being a dog lover, I loved this idea!

The pottery used in the centre pieces was hand made by the Bride and Groom. Every family/couple got to take home a different piece.
